Hiroshima
On August 6, 1949, the United States used the most powerful weapon ever used on Hiroshima, Japan, killing almost half of the cities population. The Japanese still were not ready to surrender to the Americans after the atomic bomb was used. Emperor Hirohito would regret his decision because the U.S. dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan three days later.
Nagasaki
The Americans did not finish Japan off, so they decided to drop another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, 1945, three days after the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Emperor Hirohito had finally surrendered to the Americans after they dropped the bomb on Nagasaki. He knew it was the right thing for his people, so they would not have to suffer anymore.
Effects of the Atomic Bomb
The U.S. dropped the bomb on the two Japanese cities to end the war between the U.S. and Japan. It did not just effect Japan, but it effected war tactics for future generations. The nuclear bomb is now a threat to anyone, any place, at any time. It is by far the deadliest weapon you can use. The bomb killed about a quarter of a million people between both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
